“Best Flag Ever”

This was touted on a handful of blogs today as the Best Flag Ever.

All my favorites come from radical Islamic movements. Observe the following from Al-Qaeda, Hezbollah and the Taliban (respectively).

Never has a yellow circle been so menacing. The only translation I can find online is “Al Quran is the Guide and the Swords Help”, but that can’t be right..

I really hope this was pulled from Saul Bass’ design for Exodus. The irony would be almost as choice as Ahmadinejad’s recent news.

  2. May I suggest a more mainstream flag of great beauty and simple elegance: Alaska’s “eight stars of gold on a field of blue,” designed by a young Alaska Native boy about 50 years ago.
